As you will have read on the previous page, the idea of YogaCise is much more fluid and dance like than traditional Yoga (we avoid holding postures as this can be counterproductive in pregnancy). Our main aims are:
-
To work on the deeper muscles such as the
pelvic muscles
-
To open up the pelvic area in preparation
for labour

-
To strengthen the “belt and braces”
muscles holding baby
-
To make room for baby and help with
breathing
-
To assist posture and strengthen legs
ready for labour
-
To help mums control their breathing in
preparation for labour
|
|
|
|
|
|
 |
-
To encourage optimal
foetal position (best place for bump)!
-
To explore active birthing positions and use
of chairs, stools and birthing balls in labour
-
To enable mums to focus on the pregnancy and experience deeper
states of relaxation,
-
To prepare the breast for lactation
