Gym & Trim, Cardinal Park, Ipswich
It is so wonderful to
finally have a permanent home in central Ipswich. This centre
really has been the amalgamation of so many experiences I have
had as a mother and so much feedback I've received in class.
This is such a welcome addition to the facilities on offer in
Ipswich. Expectant and new mums, babies and toddlers alike can
enjoy so many benefits (not least our extended programme of
classes).

Working from our own Permanent Studio
allows
us to bring you a more exclusive & relaxed experience and
all the benefits of:
A Baby Safe, Baby Friendly
Environment (with facilities to enjoy a cuppa)!
A Beautiful
range of
Products on display including Natalia Aromatherapy products and
exclusive Play Silks, Canopies and Silk Scapes.
A wealth of supports / aids
such as our fantastic Pregnancy Bean Bags (or doughnuts as they are
affectionately known by class mums), cushions, birth balls, soft
play equipment & matting. We are the only Ipswich based
massage therapist that we know of, who can offer pregnancy
massage as it is intended - lying over a bump bag or laterally
(on your side) supported byour mats and cushions! We also
allow babies to come along with new mums, so that mum can enjoy
a treatment without having to fit it in between feeds.
Our brand new & highly
specialist SENSORY PLAY equipment including fibre optics,
projectors, textured play equipment, treasure baskets and much
more

PRINCIPAL:
Julie Joanne Long: Mum of four and Instructor of Infant Massage,
Infant Yoga, Toddler movement, Pregnancy YogaCise, Pregnancy
Massage and HypnoBirthing. Julie is proud to have trained
and qualified with the acclaimed Birthlight Institute and was
fortunate enough to obtain her university accredited Infant
Massage diploma training alongside the Health Visitors of
Bromley Primary Care Trust.
"As a mum of four young
daughters I wanted to form an organisation for fellow mums which
not only provided mums with high quality but affordable classes
both for their pregnancy and also for the months following the
birth of their babies but gave them a friendly, safe, warm and
stimulating meeting place unlike anything else available. I
vividly remember sitting in a mums and tots group with my 5month
old baby thinking how drab it was to sit in a cold church hall,
worried about the dirt my daughter was licking off the floor and
older children racing towards her with push along tractors!
I wanted somewhere which felt homely, clean and allowed me to
take my daughter to 'age appropriate' sessions which were
beneficial for both her emotional and her physical development
....
Having suffered from Baby
Blues with two of my daughters, I believe meeting other
likeminded people and also the power of quality time and
shared touch between mum and baby, is so crucial for healthy
development and a happy mum/baby dynamic. Mums need to be
able to enjoy this time in a comfortable and appropriate
environment.
At Lazy Daisy, I
endeavour to provide fun, relaxing and informative sessions with
the emphasis always being on 'holistic education' i.e. how can a
pregnant mum deal with an issue or a new mum help her baby,
through use of massage, movement, stretches and other
forms of positive stimulation?
From the feedback
received from mums over the past two and a half years, we really
do seem to be offering a much valued and enjoyed service.
I am so excited about our latest addition of specialist Sensory
Equipment which takes the Baby Centre into a whole new dimension
to anything else out there and makes it seem so beautifully
different from the environment enjoyed at the Centre during
Pregnancy YogaCise. The sparkling lights and textures
during Sensory Sessions are there to be enjoyed by mums and
babies alike .... mums just cannot stop commenting on how
relaxing and calming they are".

WELCOME VICKY TURNER
(Baby Massage Instructor):
We are pleased to welcome
our new Baby Massage Instructor Vicky Turner to the
Centre. Vicky qualified in full body holistic massage
several years ago and whilst enjoying her time as a Lazy Daisy
mum over the course of the past two years (first in pregnancy
YogaCise and then in Baby Yoga) she undertook advanced training
with the renowned Peter Walker, to obtain her diploma in Massage
for Infants. We are delighted she will be teaching Baby
Massage & Dad's Baby Massage on our behalf, not only because she
is a fantastic and empathetic teacher but also because she
really believes in and embodies what 'Lazy Daisy' is all about.
After all she has enjoyed and continues to enjoy it with her own
little boy who is now just over 1 year. You can't get much
more of an endorsement that it works than that! (MARCH
2007)
